Mountain Operations

Job Summary:
Mohawk Mountain is seeking an experienced individual to oversee Mountain Operations. This is a full time, year round position with benefits. Job Summary:

This is a physically demanding job. This position is an overnight shift from 7PM to 7AM. Snow will be made on an as needed basis, to start the season snow makers may be scheduled for work every day/night while temperatures allow production.
This position allows for overtime hours as well as a complete employee benefit package. Snow makers will receive preferential placement in department of their choosing when snowmaking has finished for the season.
Essential duties and responsibilities (not limited to):
- Operation and maintenance of snowmaking equipment
- Monitor pump pressures and adjust flow
- Move, start and stop snow guns as needed
- Operate lifts when necessary. Dispense gasoline, diesel and propane as necessary.

This position is responsible for the organization and administration of high school & middle school racing groups, working closely with the Snowsports Directors to schedule and implement both practices and races. Responsible for assisting with all group sales endeavors, such as the organization of various groups, assisting with the point of sale stations, and other customer services related activities.

Job Summary:
Mohawk Mountain is currently recruiting for Workshop Technicians. Workshop Techs will be trained and certified to identify and set bindings from our list of indemnified bindings for Daily, Seasonal and Retail equipment. Workshop Techs will be trained to use our in-house computer system for work orders, customer accounts, equipment testing records and more. Workshop Techs will also be trained to mount, maintain, service and repair ski and snowboard bindings. Workshop Techs will be trained to hand and machine tune/maintain, ski and snowboard, edges and bases. Use of common hand tools (files, hammer/mallet, screwdrivers, etc) and less common hand tools (iron, rasps, scrappers, etc) will be used on a daily basis for tuning, repairing and maintaining equipment. Use of power tools (drills, scraper sharpener, base welder, etc) and machinery (stone/base grinder, edger, waxer, etc) will also be used on a daily basis for tuning, repairing and maintaining equipment.. Experienced at identifying & resolving issues with equipment.
Assisting guests with Workshop related tasks is the primary responsibility of Workshop Techs, but helping guests with ‘Boot Only’ rentals is their responsibility as well. Being the most knowledgeable and proficient ski technicians, Workshop Techs will also be working in the Tech Shop, as needed, depending on staffing and customer needs.
In addition, and/or as needed or directed by the Manager: snow/ice removal, light replacement, vacuuming, trash removal, lodge table arrangement, and clean up. Restock brochures and collateral materials. Follow telephone procedure and operation. Customer service for questions, and directions. Train additional employees as needed. Mohawk Mountain is currently recruiting for Ski Techs in the Rental Department. Ski Technicians are trained and certified to identify and set ski and snowboard bindings from our list of major manufacturers for our Daily, Seasonal Lease and select Retail equipment offerings. Each Ski Tech will be trained to use our in-house computer programs designed to aid in the setting of each customer’s equipment. Ski Techs are expected to be certified in our major brands, set equipment and dispatch the equipment with the proper warnings and instructions. Ski Techs are expected to aid in the fitting of boots when necessary, and the selection of Season Lease skis and snowboards.
In addition, or as needed or directed by Manager/Supervisor: snow/ice removal, light replacement, vacuuming, trash removal, lodge table arrangement, and clean up. Restock brochures and collateral materials. Follow telephone procedure and operation. Customer service for questions, and directions. Train additional employees as needed. Assistance with on-site promotional activities. Any and all work directed by the shift supervisor/rental manager.

Job Summary:
Mohawk Mountain is looking for experienced patrollers to join and help lead our ski patrol staff. If you have experience as a National Ski Patrol member patroller and would like to help lead a fantastic team of dedicated patrollers, let Mohawk Mountain be your home this winter. Paid Patrollers are supported by a volunteer core of NSP certified staff that make up our Ski Parol team. Paid Patrollers provide leadership and accountability to on call volunteers during their shift. Paid and Volunteer Patrollers work together to maintain and respond to mountain safety issues. In addition to being first responders to any medical issues at or on Mohawk Mountain, patrollers also provide assistance in setting boundary fencing, closing and opening trails, and providing customer service and information to our guests. Paid Patrollers report to the Ski Patrol Director and Mountain Management. We are looking for Patrollers to fill day, night, and weekend shifts. Job Summary:
Mohawk Mountain Ski Patrol – passion for snow, compassion for people.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Helps to provide leadership for patrollers on shift
- Responds to medical issues at Mohawk Mountain Ski Area
- Assists in maintaining on hill fencing, padding, etc.
- Helps to open and close trails (depending on shift)
Qualifications:
- National Ski Patrol Certified Alpine Patroller (required)
- Current with National Ski Patrol training and certification requirements (required)
- Able to ski or ride proficiently
Special Considerations:
- Must be able to work for extended periods outside in all weather conditions
- Must be able to stand and work for extended periods
- Must be able to bend, lift, and ski with up to 50lbs
- Must own appropriate ski/snowboard gear
