JOB SUMMARY:

The Snowsports Supervisor is responsible for training and mentoring instructors by setting an example following all policies and procedures, being approachable, and sharing knowledge with coworkers. This individual is responsible for overseeing the on hill operations of all daily and school group lessons under the direction of the Snowsports Manager. She/he will assist with the organization of group lessons, including the checking in and out of participants, communication with instructors and parents, and ensuring the safety of all parties involved. Supervisors may occasionally teach lessons based on the needs of the Snowsports Department. Reports to the Snowsports Manager.

Mohawk Mountain is currently recruiting an Assistant Snowsports Manager. The Mohawk Mountain Assistant Snowsports Manager will represent the Snowsports Discovery Center (SDC) to customers and employees and will provide the highest possible customer service. They will be responsible for day to day supervising of the Snowsports Discovery Center and will provide support for SDC staff. The Assistant Snowsports Manager will help to ensure the training of SDC staff. They will work Manager of Snowsports to provide leadership and direction for the SDC, with the goal of providing the best possible learning environment for clients and their families.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists with staff scheduling
  • Responsible for assigning lessons and non teaching tasks to all SDC staff
  • Provides communications with staff and customers as necessary
  • Assists with recruiting and training of snowsports professionals to fully staff the SDC
  • Provides supervisory roles for children’s programs, daily lessons and school groups and other areas as needed
  • Works with the Manager of Snowsports to develop program goals

The Snowsports Customer Service Specialist focuses on the sales side of delivery of Snowsports lessons. The SDC Customer Service Specialist (CSS) is responsible for answering phone calls, emails, and various other forms of communications to ensure the customer is receiving the highest quality of service and the appropriate product. The SDC CSS will be responsible for operating a point of sale (POS) in the lodge to assist customers as needed. The SDC CSS will work closely with other department desks including Rentals, Reservations, and Customer Services.

JOB SUMMARY:

The main goal of the parking lot attendant is to safely park customers vehicles evenly in rows to maximize the usable space in the parking lot and maintain roadways and fire lanes to structures. They are the first line of staff that the customer encounters and are responsible for setting the tone of the day with positivity and a willingness to help direct customers to the appropriate location (rentals, ticketing, retail shop, cafeteria, snowsports, etc.)

The shifts are primarily weekends and holidays, from approximately 7:45a to 2p-4p beginning in Late November.
The majority of the shift is spent outdoors and on your feet, adequate footwear and warm clothing are a must for this position.

Parking staff is also responsible for assisting with mountain opening, including shoveling walkways, salting, and placing directional markers in the lot as well as any other task as directed by the Mountain Operations Manager.

Mountain Operations

JOB SUMMARY:

To cover mountain ski trails with snow using various methods of snowmaking and equipment.
Mohawk’s Snowmakers work as a part of a team, to provide the highest quality and most consistent man-made snow in the East. It ia a physically demanding position that requires being in extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time. This position requires timely and reliable attendance. This is a physically demanding job. Overtime hours are readily available.

Two Shifts:
Day  (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Night (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

A snowmaker’s duties include, but are limited to

  • Setting up, maintaining, and breaking down snow making equipment as directed by the Manager
  • Routing and retrieving hoses and power cords
  • Monitoring pressures throughout the snowmaking system
  • Any other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Be able to work well with a crew and be self motivated enough to work alone for extended periods of time
  • Be able to follow verbal directions accurately
  • Be able to negotiate through rough and slippery terrain at a substantial grade
  • Be able to work long hours (12 hour shifts) in extreme weather conditions
  • Regularly lift, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Occasionally (with assistance if requested) lift, pull, and carry over 50 lbs

JOB SUMMARY:

Mohawk Mountain is seeking a full-time heavy equipment mechanic to help oversee and maintain a diverse range of machinery. Equipment includes but is not limited to, small to medium excavators, bulldozers, tractors, snow grooming equipment, snow making equipment and wheel loaders. Experience with hydraulics and electrical systems is required. Experience with welding is helpful, but not required. The applicant must be able to work alone and in a team setting. This job is not an exclusively indoor job, as it requires work to be done on the mountain. Hours can be weather dependent, and work in cold/wet conditions will occur. The heavy equipment mechanic will be a part of the mountain operations department, and report directly to the mountain operations manager.

  • Preform preventative maintenance on a wide array of vehicles and equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair vehicles and equipment in a timely manner
  • Keep detailed records of service work done

Mohawk Mountain is seeking a full-time Ski Lift Mechanic to join our mountain operations team. This
position requires the applicant to troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and safely operate all aspects of fixed
grip chairlifts. This job requires a strong work ethic, and the ability to work safely around heavy
equipment and at height. Experience with DC safety circuits is required, and knowledge of VFDs is
preferred. Hours are based heavily on seasons and weather conditions. This position is part of the
mountain operations team and will report directly to the mountain operations manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be able to troubleshoot and repair a variety of fixed grip chairlifts
  • Detailed record keeping
  • Troubleshoot basic auxiliary power units

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to keep detailed records
  • Must be comfortable working at heights, and in inclement weather
  • A valid drivers license and reliable transportation

Snow Tubing

The Snow Tubing Operations Supervisor will be responsible for running the day to day operations of the Snow Tubing department at Mohawk Mountain. The Snow Tubing Operations Supervisor will be present during all operational hours of the Snow Tubing area and until all guests have left the area. Snow Tubing Operations Supervisor will lead by example, setting the standard for providing an outstanding customer experience through professionalism, extensive training and a friendly, welcoming demeanor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF SNOW TUBING OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR:

  • Provide a consistent and pleasant customer experience.
  • Provide a consistent and pleasant customer experience.
  • Have regular contact with customers, including instruction, problem resolution and addressing concerns.
  • Help hire, train and develop Snow Tubing staff, in a secure, civil and energized work environment.
  • Schedule and manage employees for work sessions as conditions and guest visits dictate.
  • Oversee the appropriate set-up of the Tubing site, its boundaries, markings, signage, access points, customer service infrastructure or amenities and any other routines on a daily basis, or as needed. Oversee the appropriate shutdown protocols at the end of each tubing day, ensuring that all departmental equipment and supplies are secured and removed from public use
  • Maintain orderly traffic within the tubing area. Keep to schedules and session timings
  • Meet or exceed customer expectations and company standards for cleanliness
  •  Educate, advise and assist tubing customers as needed and required, including best practices for their warmth, well-being and an enjoyable experience
  • Understand Mohawk Mountain standards, policies and practices. Communicate them to customers and/or employees effectively when needed. Take corrective measures as appropriate
  • Communicate daily (or more frequently, as needed) with Mountain Operations regarding any conditions or occurrence which could affect the best possible operation of the Tubing department

The Snow Tubing Attendant will help set-up, operate and close the Snow Tubing area. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Workshop Techs will be trained and certified to identify and set bindings from our list of indemnified bindings for Daily, Seasonal and Retail equipment. Workshop Techs will be trained to use our in-house computer system for work orders, customer accounts, equipment testing records and more. Workshop Techs will also be trained to mount, maintain, service and repair ski and snowboard bindings. Workshop Techs will be trained to hand and machine tune/maintain, ski and snowboard, edges and bases. Use of common hand tools (files, hammer/mallet, screwdrivers, etc) and less common hand tools (iron, rasps, scrappers, etc) will be used on a daily basis for tuning, repairing and maintaining equipment. Use of power tools (drills, scraper sharpener, base welder, etc) and machinery (stone/base grinder, edger, waxer, etc) will also be used on a daily basis for tuning, repairing and maintaining equipment.. Experienced at identifying & resolving issues with equipment.

Assisting guests with Workshop related tasks is the primary responsibility of Workshop Techs, but helping guests with “Boot Only” rentals is their responsibility as well. Being the most knowledgeable and proficient ski technicians, Workshop Techs will also be working in the Tech Shop, as needed, depending on staffing and customer needs.

In addition, and/or as needed or directed by the Manager: snow/ice removal, light replacement, vacuuming, trash removal, lodge table arrangement, and clean up. Restock brochures and collateral materials. Follow telephone procedure and operation. Customer service for questions, and directions. Train additional employees as needed. Any and all work directed by the Rental Department Manager and/or Supervisors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides communication with other staff, customers and Rentals Department Manager
  • Must attend all training sessions and use the information to properly tune, mount and repair customer’s equipment
  • Use in-house software (Intouch) to track and maintain records of the work order status, binding records, etc.
  • Use machinery and tools made by Wintersteiger, etc.
  • Tune, service, maintain and repair: daily and seasonal rental equipment and guest/customer equipment
  • Assist guests with boot only rentals, and as needed in the Tech Shop
  • Maintain all machinery and equipment used in the Workshop along with help diagnose and repair issues with machinery and equipment.
  • Able to provide information on hard goods. (boots, skis, etc.)
  • Give information about Mohawk Mountain and where to direct guests for more information
  • Able to follow through on assigned projects and directions given by Manager and/or Supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned

Expediters provide an incredibly valuable service to Mohawk Mountain guests, by professionally and competently fitting them in equipment while simultaneously welcoming them, and providing them with information and service to guarantee an excellent experience.

Expediters will fit ski and snowboard boots from our Retail, Season Rental and Daily equipment for each customer; fit each customer with poles from our Daily Equipment, and fit each customer who has requested and paid for helmets from our Daily Equipment. Familiarity with the location and description of each level of equipment will be expected and each Rental Expediter will be trained to successfully fit our customers.
